VCU Position Search - Dean, School of Education


Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs are in the initial stages of a search to fill the position of Vice Provost for Planning and Decision Support. The new vice provost will lead the new Office of Planning and Decision Support.

Aligned with best practices in the field of institutional reporting and analysis, the Office of Planning and Decision Support will provide comprehensive and integrated data reporting and analysis to support strategic planning, decision-making and program assessment. This office will ensure that VCU is positioned to launch a new vision and an enhanced commitment to our core values of accountability, responsibility, and data-informed decision making. This new office will replace and enhance the current Center for Institutional Effectiveness and will have three major functional areas:  institutional planning and analysis, assessment and institutional effectiveness, and decision support systems.

VCU is one of the state’s largest universities and ranks among the top universities in the country in sponsored research. It enrolls over 30,000 students in 216 certificate and degree programs; 68 of the programs are unique in Virginia, many of them crossing the disciplines of VCU’s 13 academic schools and one college. MCV Hospitals and the health sciences schools of Virginia Commonwealth University compose the VCU Medical Center, one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers. VCU’s third campus is located in Doha, Qatar.
